I’m Engaged!

Hey there everyone! So sorry for being gone for so long! It has honestly been a very fun and exhausting last few weeks. I plan to tell you all about my trip to California, but first and foremost, I AM ENGAGED!! After five years, Clancy finally popped the question! I am so excited for this new journey, and I cannot wait to share it with all of you!

So, you are probably wondering, “How did he do it?” “How did he propose?” Well, I must say it was absolutely perfect! I guess I will just start from the beginning. Clancy and I had been planning to go to Los Angeles. I have always wanted to go, so he bought us plane tickets to go for 6 days. We stayed at an Airbnb where we had amazing hosts, Chris and Rosa. Literally the sweetest, kindest people I’ve ever met! If you haven’t used Airbnb before, it is basically a space where you can rent out a bedroom of someone’s home or rent an entire home while traveling or vacationing throughout the world. I honestly find it better than hotels because you meet incredible people, and it is super affordable.

Anyways, when we arrived to our Airbnb, our hosts, Chris and Rosa, greeted us and we chatted for a bit. They recommended some places to visit around Los Angeles that weren’t too touristy. One of their suggestions was Wayfarers Chapel. A beautiful glass chapel outside of Los Angeles overlooking the Pacific Ocean. As soon as I saw a picture of that chapel, I knew me and Clancy had to go check it out! And, I didn’t know this at the time, obviously, but Clancy knew as soon as he saw it that it was the place he wanted to propose. See, before our trip to California, Clancy knew he wanted to propose in California, but he didn’t know how, where, or when. So, he prayed about it, and asked God to guide him to where he needed to be and what he needed to do in order to propose to me. And, the small, glass chapel was IT!

It is so funny that Clancy had the ring in his pocket the entire trip, and I never noticed!! I even touched his pockets several times (to make sure he had his wallet, keys, etc. because I get super paranoid about him losing things lol) and I never noticed the giant ring box! HAHAHA! But, anyways, we started from the back of the chapel and walked our way around to the front of the chapel where we reached our final destination, a little wooden bench overlooking the ocean. The scenery was so unreal, it looked like a dream. Keep in mind, I am from a small town in Louisiana where the land is flat and there isn’t much to look at. We talked for a while about random stuff, when suddenly Clancy interrupted and asked me to stand with him. Thinking nothing of it, I stood with him and embraced him while looking at the ocean. Then Clancy said a bunch of sweet romantic stuff, dropped down to one knee, and I immediately lost it! Haha! I began to cry, while saying “this isn’t real, this isn’t real, you don’t want to marry me,” but by golly, he did! He asked, and I said yes!

So, since I have been back home, I have been wedding planning nonstop! I am just ready to get things going. It’s crazy to think that I have dreamed of this moment for most of my life, but as soon as it happens, I have no idea what to do with this whole wedding planning business. But, I know that I will figure it all out, and it’ll be amazing!

If you have any advice for the wedding planning process, please feel free to comment below or contact me! It would be greatly appreciated!
